Perfectionism is, at its core, about trying to earn approval and acceptance […] Healthy striving is self-focused–How can I improve? Perfectionism is other-focused–What will they think?” ~Dr. Brené Brown, “Guidepost #2: Cultivating Self-Compassion; Letting Go of Perfectionism,” The Gifts of Imperfection, p. 55

However, since I’m too tired to get up out of my chair and live in it I sit down and sigh before I log in to Facebook and imagine that I am friends with the pictures of people who are on my page.
I – we – have a problem.” ~Erinn Webb

January 15, 2012: “The process of discovering the writer within you is just that—a process. As you change and grow, your writing will change and grow. And that’s what makes the writing experience so challenging and rewarding.” ~ Karen O’Connor, Instructor of Breaking into Print
